When is the best time to lay turf?
Turf can be laid at any time of year except during periods of frost or drought. The best times are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) when temperatures are mild and rainfall is more reliable. We advise on timing as part of the quoting process.
How long does it take for new turf to establish?
New turf typically roots within 2–3 weeks in good conditions. You should avoid heavy foot traffic for the first 4–6 weeks. We provide full aftercare instructions with every turfing project.
How much does turfing cost?
Turfing costs depend on the size of the area, the condition of the existing ground, and the amount of preparation required. A typical residential lawn (50–100m²) might cost £800–£2,000 including preparation and premium turf. We provide free, written quotes.
Do you remove the existing lawn?
Yes. We strip the existing lawn using a turf cutter, rotavate the soil, and incorporate topsoil where required before laying new turf. All waste is removed from site.
What type of turf do you use?
We use premium grade turf — typically Rolawn Medallion or equivalent — which is grown specifically for domestic and commercial lawns. We can also source specialist turf for shaded areas, high-traffic areas, or sports use.
